Rude Health Week 2011- It’s Packed!

Want a tool to help you break your sugar cravings? Â Fancy getting massaged whilst helping out the stricken people of Japan? Â Interested in learning to create exciting dishes that will help relieve chronic inflammation, improve your mood and give your heart a boost?!!

I know I know, it sounds too good to be true, but guess what? All this and more is on offer and for the next week at The Hopsack as part of Rude Health Week. Â See below for the full list of events. Â Most of the events require advance bookings (look for the asterisk*) so make sure you give us a call or drop an email to confirm your attendance at one or more of our exciting events!

  • Monday

5.45-6.45 *Pilates with Susan Church – FREE taster class of this favourite energetic practice of the jetset. Â Tone your tum, improve digestion, limber up, Â improve your stress resistance and generally get to know how your body works!

  • Tuesday

1-3pm Dale Pinnock Medicinal Cookery Demo Join us for this very special slot when we will take over an adjoining premises to host the UK’s hottest new chef. Â Dale will be preparing dishes that are tailored to work on certain physiological functions, such as soups to tackle arthritis, chocolate that actually boosts your mood – get the idea? Â He also uses a select range of quality supplements in his dishes to boost their nutritional profile.

11.30-4pm Cathy Doyle Nutritional Whizz see how easy it can be to put the spring back in your step.  try out Udo’s oil, Synergy Supergreens and ask Cathy for her expert advice on female hormonal health.

  • Wednesday

12-2pm *EFT Workshop Grainne O’neill will take you you through the basic tools of a simple technique that can help you combat irrational fears, manage pain and beat your addictions.

2-6pm Natasha’s Living Food – Natasha will be in The Hopsack to let you try out her great range of raw food snacks and treats. Â This lady exudes all the raw passion her foods contain!

6-30-7.30pm *Qi Gong with Michael McCarthy Try a taster class of this wonderful dynamic eastern energy practice. go in with the worries of the world and come out floating. Â Qi gong utilises breathing techniques with dynamic movement forms to induce alignment of body, mind and spirit. Â A great way to unwind at the mid-point of your busy week!

  • Thursday

4pm (ish) Marilyn Glenville in The Hopsack! Come and meet this well known nutritional expert on hormonal health. Marilyn is making a quick stop in the middle of her Irish speaking tour and she’ll be giving short consultations to a lucky few!  We can’t guarantee anyone getting to see Marilyn and we’re not taking bookings as she won’t be in the shop for too long.  But getting in before 4pm should ensure you’re in the shop at the same time as her!!

3-6pm *Get Massaged for Charity (please book early)! Come and enjoy a 15 minute massage from one of our top masseuses.  Pay what you feel it was worth.  All proceeds go directly to the Japan Earthquake Fund. Generously supported by our masseuses, Dee Casey, Mayumi Wade and John Dunn.

  • Friday

12-5 Â *Friday Facials Get pampered silly by Janet from Dr Hauschka, a skilled beautician. Â Janet will be offering 20 minute mini-facials for absolutely no money at all. Â Not any facial, this will utilise the very special cosmetics of Dr Hauschka to soothe away the week’s stresses – book early to avoid disappointment!!

  • Saturday

4-5pm *Yoga with Sinead of Hushyoga try a free taster class with one of our favourite local yogis! What a way to zen out on a Saturday afternoon…

All Day…Erica Murray, Herbalist and founder of The Hopsack will be on-hand for the day, conducting mini consultations, and offering tastings of some of her medicinal snacks. Â They’re good actually, medicinal snacks doesn’t really do them justice. Â Think Cacao and Coconut balls packed (but well disguised) with digestive herbs.

Rude Health Week is a national health promotion initiative running next week April 11-16. Â It has associations with The Rude Health Show @ the RDS (that runs in September)in both name and form being that it aims to spread awareness of the fantastic natural and alternative therapies and remedies on offer in Ireland…or in our case Rathmines!
