Introduction to Permaculture Weekend Workshop
October 2-3, Finlough Farm, Co. Roscommon
Cost â¬170 (includes all homecooked vegetarian and organic meals…and scones…and tea)
In association with The Hopsack Health Store
Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, give him a rod and he’ll sit on a lake and drink beer all weekend. A joke born out of lazier times methinks and quite opposite to the values that have given birth to The Hopsack’s rural (ad)venture!
Finlough Farm, as some of you will know, is spreading its little wings and drawing you to the country to make use of it’s vast green-ness. First up on the agenda is our Introduction To Permaculture weekend workshop. Choose to attend and you will…
DEFINITELY: Develop your resourcefulness, get muddy, eat wild food from the hedgerow, learn a way to compost that suits you, drink gallons of different herb teas with freshly baked, organic scones, come to understand the whowhatwhenwherewhy of permaculture.
PROBABLY: Build a manure-power shower, have a great weekend, press your own fresh apple juice from the orchard, make a rocket stove.
HOPEFULLY: see the world through new eyes, meet a bunch of great new people, get buzzed up enough to go home and actually put into practice some of the stuff that you’ve learned.
Whilst we can’t actually put everybody up on the farm for the weekend (no matter how much we would love to) we can recommend local B&B’s, hotels and other self-catering type places for you to stay.

Over the coming months and years we really hope to put our farm to use to sharing and spreading knowledge and growing something real that will help us move into the future with more certain steps. Â Stay tuned.
