Citric acid is a naturally occurring carboxylic acid that is biodegradable and thus environmentally friendly. It is known as a descaler, cleaning agent and disinfectant, it inhibits the development and spread of bacteria and mould and can bind viruses such as the norovirus. Our citric acid is food safe.

To clean your water filtration system, add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to 1 litre of water (ratio 1:100). With this solution you can clean your tanks, all plastic parts, the tap and the cartridge from the outside. Then rinse everything off under running water.

Note: We accept no responsibility for this usage recommendation! If citric acid is too concentrated, plastic parts may be affected.

Citric acid solutions must not be heated, otherwise they would combine with the calcium carbonate (colloquially known as lime) to form a citrate. The resulting deposits can no longer be removed. Therefore, please use at least lukewarm.

Our citric acid is versatile and highly productive. Use the granules to descale your kettle, coffee maker or shower head, steam bath and stainless steel pipes. Unlike vinegar, citric acid is gentle on seals.
