Libido:
A review from 2010 that included four randomised clinical studies with a total of 131 participants found evidence that maca improves sexual desire after at least six weeks of ingestion.
Menopause:
Studies have found maca can reduce menopausal symptoms including hot flashes and night sweats. Another study in 2015 found that maca could reduce symptoms of depression in postmenopausal women.
Adaptogen:
Also known as ‘Peruvian ginseng’, maca is a natural adaptogen for stress management.
