Festival essentials…

Festival season is in full swing! Here is a quick guide to festival essentials…

Obviously don’t forget your:

  • Tickets
  • Tent and sleeping gear
  • Lots of changes of clothes, socks, underwear
  • Wellies
  • Rainproof gear (perhaps pack a small down jacket, fits snugly in your bag and keeps you warm later in the evening. Can also be used as a pillow or extra layer in bed!)
  • Eco-toothbrush
  • Eco-Toilet roll

Festivals are fundamentally about fun, music, friends and the pleasure of being out in nature.

Minimising waste

With nature in mind… we know that you’ll want to be mindful of minimising your waste.

Many festivals are now conscious of this too, so it’s becoming much easier to continue with a minimal waste lifestyle, while still keep festivalling your head off!

Do remember to take your own keep-cup and a reusable water bottle with you. It’s essential to stay hydrated – there are water sites available at campsites and in arenas, so there’s no need to buy bottles or single-use coffee cups..

Supplements

Be prepared – take along an emotional and physical well-being kit to keep you feeling your best throughout the festival.

Milk thistle – be kind to your liver – take in the morning and at night. The tablets rather than the tincture this time, as it will be easier to manage. It will help with the hangovers!

Mag 365 – this relaxes the muscles, calms the nervous system and helps improve sleep quality. It’s easy to drink and tastes great!

Ener-C – This sachet of goodness will enhance your immune system and provide all the nutrients and electrolytes necessary to keep you feeling energised, hydrated and restored! These are a must for festival goers and come in lots of different delicious flavours.

B-complex – great for energy and preventing unwanted early fatigue – it helps with the stress and anxiety that copious amounts of partying can have on the body and mind! A no-brainer!

Saccharomyces boulardii – Take these to protect your gut!  Festival grub, shared toilets and a stark change to your usual environment can cause stomach problems.

Everything else…

Before the festival, you make like to try  a ‘free-from nasties’ gradual self tanner. . Snow white skin can be beautiful, but if you are siding more towards blue…

Sun cream – Organii is a beautiful sun cream, no white streaky marks, non greasy, it’s organic… and it works! Come in for a sample in-store 🙂

A pocket mirror – it can be scary opening up your tent to be faced with thousands of people after a night out dancing, without a quick glance in a mirror first – is that too vain?

But, with looking and feeling good in mind remember that temperatures drop at night – so consider a wooly hat (or any kind) – it covers all bad hair situations and keeps you warm. If you have a wig lying around, they are also great for this but can be a bit itchy 🙂

Dr. Hauschka ‘Tinted Day Cream’- works as a moisturiser and helps give a beautiful glow with a little coverage. It feels and looks completely natural and reinvigorates skin… handy, especially by day two!

My friend Dee also says, a good red lipstick is a must ‘it hides a multitude…’’.

Faith in Nature wipes – 100% natural and biodegradable wipes from certified sustainable forests, cleanses face and leaves it feeling moisturized and gorgeous – ready to party!

You will be bouncing around from tent to tent, trying to fit as much as you can in, so taking time to sit down and have your three meals a day really isn't a suitable option for most. So keep snacks handy – in your bag, or pockets and also stuff that’s easily thrown together in your tent. Consider Pulsin bars, peanut butter and oatcakes, trek bars, new choc peanut butter – fibre, protein & vitamins –

Condoms…(free condoms and lube samples in store till stocks last!)

Ear plugs – to help you sleep or protect your precious ears 🙂

Post festival
